Something Missing?

Some people believe Christianity is about rules and regulations. A made up concept to help people feel more secure. However to me, knowing Jesus is the most exciting thing in my life. It's not about earning our way into God's favour. He has simply called us into a relationship with him. He's not an untouchable and distant God but one that's real and interested in each one of us.

I've never considered myself a really bad person. However if I am honest I can admit that I have done things I know are wrong. Basically its in human nature to be a bit self-centred. God made us to be in a relationship with him but despite this many of us have turned out backs on him.

I've tried living my life without God, believing other things could make me happier and more fulfilled. It was fun at first but eventually I just felt lost. It was like a niggling feeling in the back of mind that something was missing, I was doing everything I wanted to and yet felt miserable and alone.

However our separation from God isn't the end. Despite the wrong things we've done God loved us enough to send his son, Jesus, to die for us. Like a ransom he paid the price for us, so that we are now able to know him personally. After a time away from God, feeling miserable, I cried out for forgiveness and instead of turning me away God welcomed me with open arms. I turned my back on God and yet he still wants to know me!

As we look at Jesus, who endured the cross, we can see how much God loved us, it'a a privilege to know and be loved by him. It is the most fulfilling and satisfying way to live.

If you feel empty, that something is missing in your life, then why don't you find out more? God doesn't force himself into our lives. You need to invite him.
